Deer Hunting

Another Fabulous weekend. Friday night Mike and I left for Trout Lake, WA. Deer Hunting. We stayed in the Klickitat County Park in our beautiful home on wheels. The weather was so warm, to warm for deer hunting in October,
however the temperature did drop to 24 degrees on Saturday night.....brrrr.
I really wanted to deer hunt but was disappointed not to be home treasure hunting, but low and behold on the side of the road at this cute little farmhouse was a old sewing machine cabinet for sale. We drove by it twice before I finally asked Mike to stop. Oh what a look I got.....But being the sweet husband he is he pulled over and let me look. It was a little dirty, but it had great bones and a beautiful scrolled embellishment that sold me the minute I saw it. I even got it for $5.00 less than what was marked. I will follow up with a picture so all can see. Now my dilemma, do I paint it white or sand and varnish it???? The moral to the story, I didn't come home empty handed. No deer, just a vintage treasure.

Pheasant Hunting

Wow, what a great weekend at the beach. The weather was incredible. Lots of sunshine and very little wind. Saturday morning Sidney did some target practice with her new shotgun. Mike bought her a 20 gauge Remington right after she passed her hunters safety. After that we took Benelli and Harley out to the Chinook Release site Pheasant hunting. We hunted hard for two hours but could not find those darn birds. Saturday night it was off to Clam dig. Between three of us we got all our limits and totaled out at 45 clams. Sunday morning Shelby helped me clean clams....yuk and then we were off for day two of hunting. Went to another entrance and hunted for another two hours, but still no luck. We haven't given up though. I cant believe we were hunting in our T-shirts!!!! Picked up a beautiful white linen table cloth at the little thrift store in Long Beach. Well off to fill some orders. Check out my new candle fragrances for the Holiday's. Pumpkin Spice, Candy Corn, Cinnamon Bun, Witches Brew and Mulled Cider. You wont want to miss them.

Weather Check

Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a little soggy this weekend. Saturday I spent the day at the Market Affair in Washougal. Luckily my friend Liz was there to keep me company. Very Slow......

Made some wonderful candles this week. Pumpkin Spice, Coconut Creme Pie, Banana Nut Bread and Strawberries and Champaigne. With this weather I needed to restock my own candle supply. So out came the Tomatoe Vine. Smells fresh and tart. I also created a new soap label for my vegetable based soap. Kind of a french flair to it, but simple. Well off to relax before bed. Oh before I forget I checked the weather for Saturday and so far so good. Looks like it may hold up for the "Husband's Gone Hunting" Sale. Hope to see you there.
