Treasures and One Mans Trash

Happy Sunday, just wanted to share some new crafts and treasures with all my friends in blog land.

Here are some tags that I created for our show coming up in March. Roses are so beautiful!!!

I found this little treasure, still in the box with instructions at an estate sale on Friday. Wave Comb. I had no idea how those women got those pretty little waves in their hair....Now I do.

Here is a little plaque I found at the Treasure House. It was kind of plain so I spruced it up.....
Now it looks perfect!!!


This is a Little metal file box was a really ugly green. After a complete makeover she is ready for Paris.
What a transformation..


Here is the wall above my couch that I have been working on. It is still a work in progress. Don't you just love the cottage print. I found that at the GW for $5.00....
I wish I could order a few more...

This little treasure was one mans trash. Now it holds a special place in my heart.

I saw this and a vintage typewriter on Friday and decided to go back on Saturday when it was half price to pruchase it. I was to meet Christa there at 9:00 but like usual I was late and missed her. To my dismay the typewriter was gone but the adding machine was still there waiting for me with a price of only $2.00.

Later on I received a call from Christa saying sorry she missed me and I proceeded to tell her the my typewriter was gone, however she already knew because she was now the new proud owner of MY vintage typewriter.....She said I could visit anytime...Thanks Christa

Show and Tell

Happy Thursday everyone. Today is show and tell. We will start with me.

Here are a few projects that I have been working on in preparation for our (Kindred Roses) Whimsical Wishes show April 25, 2009.

I found this vintage frame at my favorite store (GW) and thought I would add a little life to it. Isn't she beautiful?

Looking at old wedding photos like this one I wonder to myself....Are they happy??? Sure do disguise well don't they?

The background paper I found in an envelope with some old letters. The spots on it are from one of those old quill pens.

This is my most prized accomplishment.

Ever wonder what to do with an old Ping Pong Paddle. I gave this red and black one new life with a fresh coat of gold, then creamy white paint. Added my photos and embellishments and Voila.

I am considering entering this one into Somerset Studio.

Trash to Treasure

Happy Sunday fellow blogger. Today was a wonderful day. Christa (my Friend and Kindred Roses Partner) and I went to Starbucks, a couple of Estate Sales, and Monticello Antique Mall where we met Sue from Bella Shabby (who has a beautiful booth I might add, Hi Sue) and found some really cool stuff. I also wanted to share some of my recent crafting projects with you. I had these plain Jane vintage apothecary bottles that I was itchin to do something fun and creative with. With the help of my handy printer, a program called Print Master, and some vintage treasures this is what I came up with.

I found it to hard to part with the large brown bottles, so they have found a new home on my fireplace mantle.

In The Mood

Ok, I have to admit I was in the mood last night.....No not for that for crafting. Here are some items that I came up with. I have had this Amy Butler paper that has been screaming for creation.

My outcome was this fantastic paper chain. One went on my Christmas Tree and the other on my China Cupboard. The paper fans went on the side of my Christmas Tree. Sidney has already put her order in for some for her bedroom. Who would of thought a tween wanting something crafty in their room....I love you Sidney.
